Welcome to 7th Grade Science
Science Expectations
In the Classroom
· Students will be expected to be ready for class with their supplies, i.e. book, binder, writing utensils and homework.
· Students will be expected to take notes during lectures.
· Notes may be from an outline, overhead or orally.
· Pop quizzes do occur.
Labs/ Experiments/ Activities
· Students need to follow directions at all times
· Students will need to complete a lab write up or worksheet.
· Answers for the write up or worksheet should be in complete sentence
· Data charts and graphs may be done in pencil.
· Lab grades are not dropped.
Homework
· Homework should be complete.
· Homework should be turned in on time for full credit.
· Answers should be in ink.
· Answers should be in complete sentences unless the questions are multiple choice of matching.
· The lowest homework grade will automatically be dropped
Tests/ Quizzes/Projects
· There will be section quizzes in each chapter.
· There will be a test at the end of each chapter. Tests are multiple choice, matching and short answer format.
· There will be a final exam. It is multiple choice and will cover content learned throughout the year.
· Projects may be assigned throughout the year.
· Small projects will be worth a quiz grade
· Larger projects will be worth a test grade
· Science Fair is in January. Students will be required to submit their topic by early December.

· Quizzes = 30%
· Tests = 30 %
